Sikkim – The Garden of God: Your Ultimate 8 Nights 9 Days Deluxe Tour Package in 2026
Gangtok | Tsomgo Lake | Lachung | Yumthang Valley | Darjeeling | Starting ₹41,999/- Per Person
Some places don't just impress you. They change you.
Sikkim is one of those places. Tucked between the mighty Himalayas, this little gem of northeastern India delivers snow-capped peaks, sacred monasteries, turquoise lakes, and carpets of wildflowers — all in one single journey. If you've been scrolling through travel reels wondering where to go in 2026, stop right there. Sikkim and Darjeeling together are calling your name.
NFTT World's Deluxe Sikkim Tour Package — 08 Nights / 09 Days covers it all. From the buzzing streets of Gangtok to the raw, soul-stirring silence of Yumthang Valley, and then south to the misty tea gardens of Darjeeling — this is the Himalayan road trip you've always dreamed of.
Why Sikkim in May 2026?
Timing matters. May is arguably the best time to visit Sikkim. The famous Yumthang Valley — India's very own Valley of Flowers — blooms in full glory from late February through mid-June. You'll see rhododendrons, primulas, and alpine flowers painting the valley in shades of pink, violet, and crimson.
The weather stays pleasant in Gangtok and Darjeeling. The roads are largely clear. Crowds are manageable. It's that sweet spot before the monsoon turns everything muddy and unpredictable.
Three departure dates are available for 2026:
🗓️ 10 May 2026
🗓️ 18 May 2026
🗓️ 26 May 2026
Seats are limited. So if one of these dates works for you, don't wait too long.

Day-by-Day Itinerary: The Full Sikkim–Darjeeling Journey
Day 1 — Arrival at NJP / IXB → Gangtok
Your adventure begins the moment you step off the train at NJP (New Jalpaiguri) Railway Station or land at IXB (Bagdogra) Airport. The NFTT World team picks you up and starts the scenic ~120 km drive to Gangtok — a journey of roughly 4 hours through winding mountain roads and lush green valleys.
By evening, you're in Gangtok. The capital city of Sikkim has this wonderful energy — part hill station calm, part vibrant cultural hub. Settle into your hotel, freshen up, and take a slow walk through the local market if you feel like it. Dinner is on us.
Meals: Dinner ✅
Day 2 — Tsomgo Lake & Baba Harbajan Singh Temple
Day two is the kind of day travel memories are made of. After breakfast, you head out for the most iconic sightseeing excursion in Gangtok — Tsomgo Lake (also spelled Changu Lake).
Sitting at an altitude of about 3,780 metres above sea level, Tsomgo Lake is a glacial high-altitude lake wrapped in myth and mountain beauty. The water shimmers in shades of deep blue and green depending on the season. In May, the surrounding hillsides are starting to bloom. You can even ride a yak along the banks — a quintessential Sikkim experience.
From there, you'll visit the revered Baba Harbajan Singh Temple, a spiritual site dedicated to a soldier believed to still guard the Indo-China border. It's not just a tourist stop. Locals and army personnel treat it as a living shrine.
⚠️ Note: Ropeway ride over the lake and Nathula Pass are not included in this package. Special permits are required for Nathula Pass and need to be arranged at least 10 days before arrival.
One-way distance: ~80 km | ~3 hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner ✅
Day 3 — Gangtok City Sightseeing: Culture, Views & Waterfalls
This is your full city day in Gangtok. And Gangtok delivers. You'll cover a sweeping range of attractions that reveal the city's cultural depth, spiritual heart, and natural charm.
Places you'll visit:
🏛️ Chorten Stupa – A magnificent stupa built in memory of the late Chogyal of Sikkim
📚 Institute of Tibetology Museum – A treasure trove of Tibetan scripts, thangkas, and religious artefacts (Closed Sundays)

Day 4 — Gangtok to Lachung: Into the Wild North
Leave Gangtok behind. Today you drive north — deep into North Sikkim — toward Lachung. The 120 km drive takes around 4 hours. Along the way, if the weather cooperates, you'll spot the stunning Seven Sister Waterfalls cascading down the green mountain face in multiple tiers. It's the kind of sight that makes you pull out your phone and forget to put it back.
Lachung is a small village nestled at roughly 2,700 metres. Life here moves slower. The air is sharper and cleaner. Evenings are cold. You'll be glad you packed that extra fleece.
Important: Reaching Lachung depends on permit timings issued by the Sikkim Tourism Department. Your tour manager handles all of this.
Distance: ~120 km | ~4 hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner ✅
Day 5 — Yumthang Valley & Zero Point: India's Valley of Flowers
This is the day. The crown jewel of the entire trip.
Yumthang Valley sits at around 3,564 metres and earns its nickname — Valley of Flowers — honestly. In May, the valley transforms into a living painting. Thousands of rhododendron trees bloom together. Primulas carpet the ground in bright colours. The river Teesta runs cold and clear through the middle of it all. You simply stand there, breathe, and feel genuinely grateful.
And then there's Zero Point — included in your package. Zero Point sits at roughly 4,800 metres, right near the Indo-China border. Snow is everywhere. The cold bites. The view is absolutely otherworldly. It's one of the highest accessible points in Sikkim for civilians. Not many can say they've been there.
⚠️ NRIs and foreign nationals are not permitted to visit Yumthang Valley. All visits are subject to weather and road conditions.
Distance covered (round trip): ~100 km | ~4 hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner ✅
Day 6 — Lachung back to Gangtok
The drive back to Gangtok from Lachung gives you one more chance to soak in North Sikkim's dramatic mountain scenery. Once you arrive, the evening is yours — rest, stroll through MG Marg (Gangtok's popular pedestrian boulevard), or pick up some last-minute souvenirs.
Distance: ~120 km | ~4 hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner ✅
Day 7 — Gangtok to Darjeeling: The Tea Town Awaits
From misty mountain valleys to the legendary tea hills of West Bengal — today you cross into Darjeeling. En route, you have the option to visit Namchi Dham, a grand religious complex in South Sikkim known for its massive statue of Guru Padmasambhava. It's optional. Your tour manager will help you decide based on time.
There's also the possibility of white water rafting en route — thrilling, fast, and totally optional. It's not included in the package cost.
Darjeeling welcomes you with its signature colonial charm, crisp mountain air, and the intoxicating scent of tea leaves on the breeze.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner ✅

It's the kind of sunrise that makes grown people emotional. Worth every second of that early alarm.

Essential Travel Tips for Sikkim & Darjeeling
