Shikhar Ji Yatra 2026: The Ultimate 7-Day Jain Pilgrimage Tour Guide (Complete Itinerary + Price)

By NFTT World Pvt. Ltd. | Nagfani Tours and Travels, Mumbai

If you've ever dreamed of walking the sacred hills of Shikhar Ji, you already know this isn't just a trip. It's a calling. Every Jain pilgrim holds Shikhar Ji — officially known as Sammed Shikharji — in the highest spiritual regard. It's the place where 20 of the 24 Tirthankaras attained moksha. Simply put, there's no holier place on earth in Jain tradition.

And now, NFTT World brings you a beautifully crafted 6 Nights / 7 Days Shikhar Ji Yatra Tour Package that covers everything — from Bhagalpur temple darshansto Pavapuri's serene ghats — all at an unbeatable price of just ₹19,999 per person (quad sharing).

Let's walk through every detail so you know exactly what to expect.

Why Shikhar Ji Yatra Belongs on Every Jain's Bucket List

Sammed Shikharji sits in the Parasnath Hills of Jharkhand. At roughly 1,350 metres above sea level, it's the highest peak in the state. But altitude is the least of what makes it extraordinary. This mountain holds the spiritual liberation points — called tonks — of the Tirthankaras. Walking the Pahad is both an act of devotion and an act of surrender.

You don't need to be deeply religious to feel moved here. Pilgrims, first-timers, and even curious travellers describe the experience as something that quietly reshapes you from the inside.

Day-by-Day Itinerary: What Your 7 Days Look Like

Day 1 — Arrival at Parasnath: The Journey Begins

Your pilgrimage starts the moment you step off the train at Parasnath Railway Station. The NFTT World team greets you warmly and drives you to Shikhar Ji — about 25 km, roughly 40 minutes away.

That first evening, settle into your Jain Dharamshala accommodation and soak in the atmosphere. The tour officially begins with dinner on Day 1. Think of this evening as your quiet exhale before the spiritual climb ahead.

Day 2 — Shikhar Ji Pahad Vandana: The Heart of the Yatra

Wake up early. This is the day. The Shikhar Ji Pahad Vandana — the sacred mountain trek and darshan — is your own personal activity on the hill.

The full Parikrama of Sammed Shikharji covers approximately 27 km and passes 20 tonks. Most pilgrims begin before dawn. The quiet of early morning, the mist on the hills, the faint sound of prayers — it's an experience you carry with you long after you're home. After completing the vandana, you return to the Dharamshala for a full day of meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Chouviar).

Day 3 — Shikhar Ji to Bhagalpur: Temples Along the Way

Today, you cover roughly 210 km to reach Bhagalpur — about a 6-hour drive. But it's not just a bus ride. En route, you stop for darshan at the historic Rujuwalika Temple, one of the significant Jain pilgrimage sites along this sacred corridor.

Bhagalpur itself is rich with Jain heritage. Arrive, rest, and prepare for the next day's temple visits.

Day 4 — Bhagalpur to Lachvaad: Hidden Gems of Jain Heritage

After a morning darshan at the Bhagalpur Temple, you head towards Lachvaad — 130 km away, about 3.5 hours. On the way, you stop at Kakandi Temple for darshan.

Kakandi is one of those quiet, lesser-known Jain pilgrimage spots that doesn't always make the tourist brochures. Yet once you've visited, you'll understand why pilgrims keep returning. Arrive at Lachvaad by evening and check into the Jain Dharamshala.

Day 5 — Lachvaad to Pavapuri: Sacred Ground of Mahavira

This is a meaningful day for every Jain devotee. After the Lachvaad Temple Darshan, you drive 80 km (about 2 hours) to Pavapuri — the place where Lord Mahavira attained nirvana.

En route, you visit Badelipur Temple for darshan. Once you reach Pavapuri, the atmosphere shifts completely. The iconic Jal Mandir — a marble temple rising from a lotus-filled lake — is something you simply cannot prepare yourself for. You'll see it and understand.

Day 6 — Rajgir Pahad Vandana: Another Sacred Hill

Early morning brings another pahad vandana — this time at Rajgir, one of the most historically significant towns in all of India. For Jains, the Rajgir Hills hold deep religious significance. The vandana is, again, marked as your own activity (OWN ACTIVITY).

After the vandana, you return to Pavapuri for your last overnight stay. Spend this evening reflecting on everything you've seen and felt over the past six days.

Day 7 — Pavapuri to Patna: The Sweet Farewell

The final morning begins with Pavapuri Temple Darshan — a beautiful way to close the yatra. Then it's a 2.5-hour drive (105 km) to Patna Railway Station where the tour officially concludes.

Breakfast is included. You leave with full hearts, clear minds, and probably a long list of people you want to bring on the next batch.

The condition? At least 45 pilgrims need to be in the group for the NFTT World kitchen to operate. If the group is smaller, food is still served pure Veg and Jain — just from the hotel's own kitchen. Either way, there are no compromises on dietary standards. Devout Jain travellers can eat with complete peace of mind.
